Wireless controllers simplify the installation of light switches and dimmers. In addition, the controls allow the Kelvin levels of the new colour temperature adjustable luminaires to be adjusted between warm white and cool white. A dedicated control also for adjusting the colour-changing RGB lights. In this article, we present the compatibility of LedStore’s VaLo series controllers with Schneider Exxact, Merten, Enston, ABB and Gira. Each of these brands has matching cover plates and/or inner frames.

For VaLO RF controllers
55x55mm, so you can find frames for these buttons in all the most common mounting kits. The buttons always come with white glass frames in VaLO RF controllers, but the overall harmony is maintained when the wireless controllers are mounted in frames that match existing switches/dimmers, if there are several buttons/controllers in the same location.

Mounting frames unify the look
Electrical fittings add a nice touch of style to the home and often influence the choice of dimmers and lighting. LedStore’s VaLO series of wireless controllers are available in white for the RF series and white and black for the RF Zigbee series. Wireless control is available for almost all our luminaires. In the picture below, the upper button of the colour temperature controls controls the two Paneeli 600 luminaires, and the lower button controls the colour temperature adjustable stripstrip mounted on the stairs. The buttons are paired with a Schneider Exxact Primo two-piece cover plate.

Frames / cover plates are typically available in 1, 2, 3, 4, up to 6 sections. For example, when renovating a home, you may need to replace some of the wired dimmers or light switches with wireless controls. This is possible because the wired switch slot can be plugged and replaced by a wireless/wireless controller.
The top row of the picture shows the Schneider Exxact Primo anthracite two-piece frame with LedStore’s VaLO RF Zigbee buttons. On the bottom row, Schneider Exxact Combi three-piece white frame with three wired switches and on the top, a wireless RGB dimmer controller for a colour adjustable RGB strip, for example, powered by a Zigbee transformer. The Schneider Exxact Solid frame is not pictured here. It is a stylish glass frame set, available in black, among other colours.
Other brands that fit the bill are the stylish frames of the Gira brand, in all those ranges marked System 55. Merten brand products are virtually the same size as the Schneider Exxact, so they also work well with LedStore’s wireless controllers; VaLO RF and VaLO RF Zigbee. ABB offers the Basic 55 product range, which is also compatible with the VaLO family of controllers.
Shown below is the Ensto Intro two-piece black frame LS961Z5SWFI and LedStore’s black Zigbee dimmer buttons for four groups and two groups. With a little tweaking, this glossy black bezel fits the VaLO RF Zigbee wireless controller.
In the glossy black frame, the adapter, i.e. the inner frame must be lined flat, i.e. the part of the inner frame about 1 mm wide is removed. For example. with a carpet knife, as the plastic material is quite soft.
Benefits of wireless buttons
Wireless buttons have a big advantage in terms of installation in that they do not require new wiring. The buttons can therefore be placed freely where you want them, even at the bottom of a cupboard, or kept hidden, and adjusted only when necessary.
Wireless controllers can be used in parallel with a wired on/off switch. When adjusting from the wireless controller, the transformer or receiver remembers the last setting, so the control switch can simply be used to turn the lights on and off.
VaLO RF controllers make it easy to create a staircase operation so that the same light is controlled by two different buttons. Both can also be used for dimming and, for example, colour temperature control. The buttons are simply connected in pairs to the same transformer. A maximum of eight controllers can be connected to one transformer.
VaLO RF Zigbee controllers are compatible with home automation, allowing the buttons to act as controllers in addition to controlling lighting levels, lights on, lights off, etc. is timed/programmed e.g. In a Philips Hue system.
