Tikkurila Real Estate World was faced with the need for new lighting when the existing lighting in the office started to reach the end of its life. During the life of the office, the ceiling had been fitted with both recessed multi-metal luminaires and surface-mounted rail luminaires. They wanted lighting that would fit in with the existing technology and would not require changes to the ceiling. The same type of lighting was used to illuminate the whole office, so that the end result would be consistent.
RINKELI luminaire chosen to illuminate the office
Real Estate World Tikkurila entrepreneur Marko From was browsing the LedStore range, and spotted a sleek, narrow-framed light with several size options and colour temperature options of warm 3000 Kelvin and neutral 4000 Kelvin.
He came to LedStore’s Koivuhaa store to see the luminaires, where all sizes and colour temperatures of light were on display.
The diameter of the globe is 60 cm and the colour of the light is fresh white 4000K. The light from the luminaires opens up to the sides, so they are good general lighting. One lamp produces 3800 lumens of luminous intensity.
RINKELI luminaires are suitable for lighting the entire office
The office is an open-plan space with glass partitions. The space is divided into an entrance hall, a meeting room and workstations for real estate agents. The space is unified, so the lighting fixtures were also chosen to match the lighting throughout the space and create a cohesive look. The installation was also designed to be simple, so that no new electrical wiring was needed. The RINKELI luminaires were well suited to this wish, and for the installation, the electrician fitted the luminaires with the appropriate connection cables to the rails. This method of installation freed up the need to place the LIGHTS at suitable distances from each other to provide uniform lighting.
Good and even working light
The office is bright and spacious, with full-wall windows on three walls. On the other hand, an awning that prevents the room from getting too hot will shade the room, and especially in winter when there is little light available, the room needs plenty of extra light. The overall look of the entire space was improved by the RINKELI luminaires being evenly distributed across the ceiling. The advantage of shade-free luminaires hanging from the ceiling is that they allow light to shine in all directions. In a low-ceilinged space, light is also indirectly transmitted through the light ceiling, so it becomes natural and even.
When working with a display terminal, it is good to have enough even light in the environment. For example, narrow-angle spotlights can easily cause glare if they are directed, for example, from behind the worker’s back to the screen. Large differences between light and shadows are also a strain on the eye. RINKELI luminaires have these features in place, with a wide angle of light opening up to the surroundings, and any glare can be controlled by adjusting the height of the suspension rods on a luminaire-by-luminaire basis. The luminaires are dimmable, so the right light level can be adjusted to suit your needs. In an office environment, a neutral light colour temperature is fresh and pleasant, but it also has a facilitating effect. A colour temperature of around 4000 Kelvin makes it easier to see, as the ability to perceive contrasts is enhanced by the cooler hue of the light, which is useful when reading.
